Cookie Policy
Last updated: 22 September 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Braid Finance Pty Ltd (“Braid Finance”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on braidfinance.com.au.
It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, the choices available to you and how those choices affect analytics and advertising measurement.
This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on or associated with your browser or device when you visit a website. Cookies allow a website to recognise a browser, remember settings and perform functions such as maintaining security, processing forms and measuring website activity.
Some cookies last only while your browser is open. These are called session cookies. Other cookies remain for a defined period or until you delete them. These are called persistent cookies.
Cookies may be:
- first-party cookies, set by Braid Finance or through the Braid Finance website; or
- third-party cookies, set or read by another organisation whose technology is used on the website.
2. Similar technologies
We may also use technologies that operate in a similar way to cookies, including:
- browser local storage;
- tracking pixels and tags;
- software development and measurement scripts;
- advertising click and browser identifiers;
- server-side conversion measurement; and
- pseudonymous event identifiers used to avoid counting the same event twice.
References to “cookies” in this policy include these similar technologies where appropriate.
3. Why we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- operate and secure the website;
- display and process online forms;
- remember your privacy choices;
- understand how visitors use the website;
- identify website errors and improve performance;
- measure whether an enquiry or other website event occurred;
- understand the effectiveness of advertising campaigns; and
- support advertising measurement where you have allowed it.
4. Cookie categories
Required
Required cookies and storage are necessary for the website to operate, maintain security, process forms and remember your privacy choices.
They do not require the Analytics or Advertising choices to be enabled. Blocking them through your browser may prevent parts of the website from working correctly.
Analytics
If you select Allow Analytics, we may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website.
Analytics information may include:
- pages visited and actions taken;
- the approximate source of website traffic;
- dates, times and session duration;
- browser, device and operating-system information;
- approximate location derived from an IP address;
- website performance or error information; and
- whether an enquiry or other website event occurred.
Advertising
If you select Allow Advertising, we may use Meta and Google advertising technologies to measure advertising performance and understand whether an advertisement contributed to an enquiry or application milestone.
Advertising technologies may use or receive:
- advertising click and browser identifiers;
- IP address and user-agent information;
- the type and time of an event;
- a hashed or pseudonymous lead reference;
- hashed email address or telephone number;
- advertising campaign information; and
- limited application or customer-journey status information used to measure an advertising result.
Hashing converts information into a standardised coded value before transmission. It does not necessarily make the information anonymous because a provider may be able to match the coded value with information already held within its services.
Braid Finance does not configure advertising events to send the contents of your finance application, financial statements, income and expense details, uploaded documents or identity documents to Meta or Google.
5. Cookies and storage used on this website
The exact cookies present can depend on the page you visit, the features you use and the choices you make. Providers may change cookie names or retention periods as their services evolve.
Not every cookie listed above will be present during every visit. Optional Analytics and Advertising cookies are only intended to operate when the corresponding category is allowed and the relevant service is configured on the website.
6. Server-side conversion measurement
Some advertising measurement can occur through a secure server-to-server connection rather than through a browser cookie alone. Braid Finance uses Meta Conversions API for consented advertising measurement.
If you allow Advertising and submit a relevant form, Braid Finance may send Meta a conversion event containing limited identifiers and event information. This may include a hashed email address or telephone number, a hashed or pseudonymous lead reference, IP address, user-agent information, Meta browser or click identifiers, the event type and time, and limited application-status information.
Our advertising-consent controls also apply to this server-side measurement. If valid Advertising consent is not recorded for the relevant submission, the consent-controlled Meta conversion event is not sent.
7. Your privacy choices
When the privacy choices are presented, you can:
- allow both Analytics and Advertising;
- allow Analytics but not Advertising;
- allow Advertising but not Analytics where the displayed controls permit separate selection; or
- continue with Required technologies only.
You can review or change your selection at any time using the Privacy choices control made available on the website.
Withdrawing a choice applies to future collection and transmission. It cannot recall information already sent before the choice was changed.
Your choice is generally stored for up to 180 days. We may ask you to choose again after that period or when the consent system or policy is materially updated.
8. Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies through their settings. Browser instructions are usually available through the browser’s Help, Privacy or Security menu.
Blocking or deleting cookies may:
- cause the website to ask for your privacy choices again;
- prevent us from remembering your selection;
- affect the operation of forms or website features; or
- prevent some security or session functions from operating correctly.
Browser controls operate separately from the Braid Finance privacy controls. If you clear browser storage, you may also clear the record of your previous choice.
9. Third-party providers
Third-party providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Their technology, cookie names and retention periods may change independently of Braid Finance.
These providers may process information in Australia, the United States of America and other countries in which they or their service providers operate.
10. Do Not Track and advertising controls
Some browsers provide a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no single industry standard governing how every website and provider must respond to this signal.
Use the Braid Finance Privacy choices control to manage the optional technologies controlled by this website. You may also use the privacy and advertising controls provided by Google, Meta, your browser or your device.
11. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our website, consent controls, providers or legal obligations change.
The current version will be published on this website with the date it was last updated. Material changes may also cause the website to request a new privacy choice.
